Our team recently completed a tarmac driveway transformation at a property in Leyland, replacing an old and tired surface with a brand-new tarmac driveway designed to improve both appearance and everyday practicality. Project Overview:

Phase 1: Excavation & Removal

Phase 2: Ground Preparation

Once the driveway had been excavated, our team prepared the ground ready for the new sub-base. A strong MOT Type 1 hardcore foundation was installed across the full driveway area and compacted in layers to create a solid, stable base. Phase 3: Edging & Drainage

The edging was fitted along the front of the driveway, beside the boundary wall and around the lawn section to give the project a neat and professional finish. This not only improves the appearance of the driveway but also helps retain the tarmac and keep the finished surface looking sharp. Phase 4: Base Course Installation

After the edging and levels had been completed, the tarmac base course was laid. The base course was spread evenly across the prepared area and compacted thoroughly to create a firm and stable surface. This stage plays an important role in ensuring the finished driveway is smooth, strong and suitable for everyday use.

Phase 5: Tarmac Surface Installation

Once the base course was ready, the final tarmac wearing course was applied to create the finished driveway surface. The tarmac was laid carefully across the full area and compacted to achieve a smooth, even finish. The fresh black surface immediately improved the look of the property, replacing the old red driveway with a much cleaner and more modern appearance.
